Hey my truck don't got AC took to shop and they said it was too full of freon
So they took some out and replaced some switch on the compessor

It didn't work when I picked up the truck so I took it back and they said the compressor is shot

Is this really a compressor bad or what?

Also the fuses and relays are good I replaced em both but when I press the button for the air it don't light up like it should

And we could get the AC to work before I took it into the shop If I jump it with a wire from the battery

Does it still work if you jump it with a wire???

You might want to check the compressor harness with a Meter, test light ect..
See if it is getting a signal or power to turn on when you turn it on from the HVAC control on your dash...

Could the pressure sender unti have gone? Might explain why it's so full of freon and the pump won't engage. My understanding is that if the pressure unit sees the freon pressure as being too low, it won't bother to engage the AC compressor clutch.
